Interestingly enough, I plugged this trade into the ESPN Trade Machine and Hollinger predicted that the Jazz would win one more game with Rip Hamilton than with Boozer. The Detroit Pistons, it predicted, would stay even.

Going a little crazier, I tried a trade of Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince for Carlos Boozer, Matt Harpring, and CJ Miles. Hollinger predicted 4 more wins for the Jazz and 7 less wins for the Pistons.

You really have to take Hollinger's rankings with a grain of salt, though, because the trade machine does not yet have Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva added to the Detroit Pistons yet. Those additions are the reason why Detroit is likely willing to try to move both Hamilton and Prince. Both Boozer and Miles are young enough that they could fit into Detroit's long term plans. The longer contracts of veterans Hamilton and Prince likely do not.
