The Utah Jazz, despite being “unable to win on the road”, won on the road on Saturday night.
Jazz fans everywhere, only 1 game into the series, are already talking sweep.
Mehmet Okur didn’t play very well, although he did get 8 rebounds.
Deron Williams got 20 points and 10 assists and Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 16 rebounds.
The X-Factor for the Jazz, though, was the play of Andrei Kirilenko who chipped in for 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a blocked shot.
Kyle Korver was the only other Jazz player in double figures with 11 points.
The biggest telling sign of the game was that the Jazz hit over 52% of their shots on Houston’s home floor while the Rockets managed a measly 36.7% at their home runs. At times in the game, the score was close, but the Jazz outscored the Rockets in every single quarter to take home the victory.
The good news for the Jazz is that they don’t have to win another game at Houston, although Jazz fans hope they do.
With the Jazz’s stellar home record, Houston really had to win every game at home. The look certainly has to look bleak for them, but most pollsters already predicted that anyway. The Jazz led the playoff teams with an 80% prediction that they would win their first round playoff series, according to one source.
