The Good News
The Jazz have had a few moments where they have found it difficult to score, but for the most part the balls seem to be falling pretty regularly for the Utah Jazz. Ronnie Brewer continues to put up good offensive numbers, making it very difficult for other teams to double team anybody on the Jazz for fear of leaving someone else wide open. Even the bench seems to be doing pretty well in the scoring department.
The Bad News
Other teams aren’t finding it too difficult to score on the Jazz either, often to the tune of more points than the Jazz can score.
Last year, some of the top players in the league put up some monstrous games against the Utah Jazz. This year, things don’t look much different, with Baron Davis, Tracy McGrady, Al Harrington, and Kobe Bryant already doing very well in the Jazz’s first four games.
If anything, the Utah Jazz appear to have slid a little more in the defense department.
I’m not sure if the loss of Derek Fisher and the lack of experience by the two players signed to replace him are contributing to the defensive problems, but obviously Utah is going to have to get better in this department if they hope to make any sort of run in the playoffs.
Unfortunately for the Jazz, they are most likely not going to be playing the Golden State Warriors 60 more times before the end of the season to pad their win/loss numbers.
Thankfully, they have 78 more games to get their players in sync defensively before they have to play in the REAL season.
