The Utah Jazz started out where they left off last season.
They are still much better than the Golden State Warriors, defeating them by 21 points in a game that seemed over after a monstrous second quarter seemed to take the wind out of the Warriors sails. Golden State seems to know that they can’t handle the Utah Jazz just as much as they know that they can beat the Dallas Mavericks any time they want.
And it showed.

As was predicted by many, Ronnie Brewer started at the shooting guard spot. He joined the standard starters of Deron Williams, Andrei Kirilenko, Carlos Boozer, and Mehmet Okur for the first game of the NBA season against the Golden State Warriors.
Alright, it was only the preseason. The coaches were giving their young players a chance to shine, but towards the end of the preseason is usually the time when the teams play the most like they are planning on playing in the regular season — trying to gel as a team before the games really count.
The Jazz showed that they are ready to make a run at this thing.

17 points, 75% FG, and 2 steals vs. the Milwaukee Bucks preseason squad.
18 points and 6 rebounds vs. the Detroit Pistons preseason squad.
It’s only the preseason (which makes it really hard to tell if he will really be given the minutes and how he will stack up against the starting 2 guards in the league), but it looks like second year guard Ronnie Brewer has come to play.

The Jazz made it to the Western Conference finals last year.
They didn’t make too many off-season moves, but they didn’t really need to make too many either. They have a nice core of Carlos Boozer, Deron Williams, and Mehmet Okur, and some other great players including veterans Matt Harpring and Andrei Kirilenko, and second round surprise Paul Millsap.
The big question that every Jazz fan is asking himself or herself this year is “Will the Jazz be better this year?”
